Product Recall Alert

Lidl US has recalled one lot of Gelatelli Coffee & Vanilla Gelato with Coffee Sauce & Cookie Pieces after routine quality testing found Listeria monocytogenes in a lab sample. The company announced the recall on October 16, 2026, and the FDA published it the next day. No illnesses have been reported to date. If you stocked your freezer at Lidl this summer or fall, it's worth a quick check to protect your household.

What's Being Recalled?

The UPC is 4 0564897 22458, the lot code is 085261, and the Best By date is MAR/26/2028. The lot code and Best By date are printed on the bottom of the container. Only this one lot is affected. Why Was This Product Recalled?

Listeria monocytogenes can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems. Healthy people may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. Listeria infection can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women. Contaminated food may not look, smell or taste spoiled, and symptoms can take up to 70 days to develop after exposure. With a Best By date in 2028, some shoppers may still have this gelato in their freezers.

What Should You Do?

Check the bottom of your container for lot 085261 and the Best By date of MAR/26/2028. If it matches, do not eat it. Discard it, or return it to your nearest Lidl for a full refund, no receipt required. Questions can go to the Lidl US Customer Care Hotline at (844) 747-5435, Monday to Saturday, 8 am to 8 pm ET. Anyone who ate the gelato and has symptoms should seek medical care and mention the possible Listeria exposure.
