Fettuccine Recall Expands Over Listeria Risk

Product Recall Alert

Gias Foods Inc. has issued a recall for a batch of its refrigerated BetterGoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, sold at retail stores, after testing raised concerns about possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The recall was announced through the FDA's safety alert system and covers a limited production run of the pasta.

What's Being Recalled?

The affected product is BetterGoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine, sold in refrigerated packaging at grocery retailers. Impacted units carry lot codes 24187 and 24194, with best-by dates printed on the package lid. The product was distributed to stores nationally during the normal sale window for this refrigerated line. No price information was disclosed in the official notice.

Why Was This Product Recalled?

Routine testing identified the potential presence of Listeria monocytogenes in the fettuccine. Listeria can cause serious, sometimes fatal infections in young children, frail or elderly people, and others with weakened immune systems. Healthy individuals may experience short-term symptoms such as high fever, severe headache, stiffness, nausea, and abdominal pain. In pregnant women, infection can cause miscarriage or stillbirth. No illnesses had been confirmed as linked to this product at the time of the notice.

What Should You Do?

Check your refrigerator for BetterGoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine bearing lot codes 24187 or 24194. Do not eat the product, even if it looks and smells normal. Throw it away or return it to the place of purchase for a full refund. Anyone who has eaten the product and developed fever, muscle aches, or gastrointestinal symptoms should contact a healthcare provider and mention possible Listeria exposure.
